Today saw the (long awaited) return of the Designer Mart in Cows Lane in Dublins Temple Bar.

A favourite of mine for many years now, this outdoor market offers a huge variety of handmade arts & crafts from dresses to jewellery and metalwork to furniture.

Situated in the heart of Temple Bar on Cows Lane (off Lord Edward St.) the dedicated stall-holders will be there every Saturday (10am - 5pm) from March to September - hail, rain or shine.

Some of the artists who display their work here include:

1. FiFi Le Rue aka Fiona Archibald (clothing design & accessories)

2. Courtney Taylor (jewellery design)

3. Hazel Donnelly (knitwear & crochet)

4. Colm McDermott (photography)

5. Chupi Sweetman (clothing design)

...and many more...

Definately worth a look if you are after something original and quirky for yourself or a friend.... and with the addition of the 'Queen of Tarts' bakery and coffee shop, who can resist a rhubarb & strawberry crumble with coffee while sitting by the window watching the world go by? :)

  1. Hi I am based in Dublin too and also make accesories, womens and kids aprons. I wonder how to get involved in a market like this one?

  2. hi there, i'm not involved in the market (but some day hope to be!) - i thought i'd post about it to draw attention to some of the fabulous handmade items available in Dublin. to have a stall you have to get in touch with the committee, you can email them on there are other markets around dublin that you may also be interested in joining like Blackrock market ( Zion Craft Market in Rathgar ( a simple google search will give you lots of information. good luck & let me know how you get on as i am always interested in chatting to other crafters in Dublin:)
